'Absolutely phenomenal' What's On As the orchestra of Birmingham Royal Ballet, the Royal Ballet Sinfonia is Britain's busiest ballet orchestra, playing for all the Company's performances. It is also regularly plays for The Royal Ballet at Covent Garden and is the orchestra of choice for many international ballet companies visiting the UK. In the pit the Sinfonia excels in a repertory that ranges from the great 19th-century ballet classics of Tchaikovsky, Delibes and Minkus, through to newly commissioned scores from Sally Beamish, Gabriel Prokofiev, Tom Harrold and more. In the recording studio and concert hall, the Sinfonia has made a name for itself with a wide repertory of 20th-century light music and English-heritage ballet scores.
