Biography

Maciej Skrzeczkowski (born in 2001) specializes in historical performance on the harpsichord and pianoforte. He has received numerous awards in various piano and harpsichord competitions in Poland and abroad, with the most notable being the third prize at the Concorso Internazionale di Clavicembalo in Milan in 2019 (after just three years of harpsichord study) and the first prize and special award from Outhere at the Musica Antiqua harpsichord competition in Bruges in 2023, where was one of the youngest winners in the long history of this competition. He has performed in various venues in Poland (Warsaw, Żelazowa Wola, Kraków), Belgium (Vleeshuis Museum in Antwerp, MA Festival in Bruges), France (tournées in Ardèche and Provence), Italy (Urbino, Milan) and Japan (Iwaki, Osaka, Tokyo, Tokorozawa, Yokohama, Hiroshima and Akita). In 2019, he took part in the world premiere recording of Roman Palester's 'Concertino per clavicembalo e dieci strumenti', performed with the Sinfonia Iuventus with Łukasz Borowicz. Recently, he has also become a promoter of Franciszek Lessel's music – in 2022, at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, he gave the first concert presentation of all of this composer's sonatas, and since then, he has regularly included his compositions in concert programs. In 2024, he released his debut solo album with Bull's virginal music 'The Real John Bull' for Ricercar (Outhere Music) as a result of winning the MA Competition in the previous year.
