Biography

THE HYDRANT pioneered Indonesia's rockabilly scene and may be the largest band in the genre.   THE HYDRANT was formed on 14 August 2004 in Denpasar, Bali, and is now made up of Marshello aka Brown Elvis (vocal, guitar, and harmonica), Vincent (lead guitar), Christopper (stand-up drums), and Adi (upright bass).   THE HYDRANT presently has five albums and a planned EP that will be released on vinyl in early 2025. The previous release was Lokananta Riot, a full-length album released in September 2015. It contains 16 tracks, including a Balinese composition, all recorded live at the ancient Lokananta recording studio. Considering their repertoire, THE HYDRANT certainly earns the designation of "veterans." They have not only performed at major national events, but they have also tested international concert venues. In 2009, this foursome performed at Pohoda, one of the world's top ten music festivals. This annual event in Slovakia attracts around 30,000 people. THE HYDRANT returned to Pohoda in July 2017 and also performed at the Czech Republic's Mighty Sounds event. THE HYDRANT had the opportunity to perform at Viva Las Vegas, the world's largest rockabilly event, in 2016 and 2018. The Pompadour Four proved to be an excellent portrayal of an Eastern rockabilly band. They performed in Hong Kong twice. In 2022, they played in Australia. In 2024, they headlined two different festivals in Singapore. Shake, rattle an' roll!
