The Lute player Orí Harmelin was born 1981 in Haifa, Israel. The fascination with early music led him to his studies at the Early Music Institute in Trossingen, Germany under Rolf Lislevand and Kees Boeke’s tutelage, followed by studies in the Zurich Art academy under the tutelage of Eduardo Eguez. Orí is the house lutenist of ensembles Profeti della Quinta and Voces Suaves. After having released numerous Albums with various ensembles, he has recently released the debut album of his compositions and arrangements of renaissance and early Baroque vocal music. Orí performs regularly in Europe, North America, and Asia. In addition to his passion for music, Orí is training to become a Gestalt Therapist. He currently lives in Basel, Switzerland.
