Toronto’s Tasha the Amazon is an award-winning artist and music producer notorious for her wild shows and her Afrofuturistic videos. VICE Magazine described her as "fearless and peerless", Billboard Magazine called her a buzzworthy “party starter”, and New York Magazine called her “legendary”. The German-Jamaican powerhouse released her debut EP, Die Every Day, in December of 2016. An onslaught of dark anthems, the album was nominated for a 2017 Juno in the ‘Rap Recording of the Year’ category, while singles from the project went viral, with “Picasso Leaning” being proclaimed Spotify's "most uniquely popular single in Toronto". The iconic video for the breakout single went on to win “Best Hip Hop Video” at the 2017 MuchMusic Video Awards, making Tasha the only female in history to win this award. In December 2019, she released her sophomore project, "Black Moon", with critically-acclaimed singles/videos like Forever Ting and That Ain't You. Anthemic, raw, and always recognizable, Tasha’s music has appeared on television shows like Insecure, Genera+ion, Love & Hip Hop, and in video games like MLB: The Show '23 and The Crew Motorfest 3. A sought after brand ambassador, she’s collaborated with household names like Adidas, NewEra, YouTube & Google. Whether producing solo or in collaboration with long-time creative partner, Danthrax, Tasha’s music experiments unapologetically with the future of rap, R&B, and electronic.
