Biography

Brooklyn-based violinist Pat Mangan is a two-time All-Ireland fiddle champion. He made his Broadway debut at age 16 with “Riverdance on Broadway,” and has since performed with the Grammy award winning Irish dance production and other luminaries of Celtic music in over 30 countries on every continent. He's a featured soloist on the new album Riverdance 25th Anniversary: Music From The Show Recent performance highlights include the Metropolitan Museum of Art with Moya Brennan of Clannad, Lincoln Center with Riverdance composer Bill Whelan, and frequent appearances with the hit show “‘Come From Away’ Original Broadway Cast.” Pat is also a regular featured guest at New York’s most renowned traditional Irish music session spots such as The 11th Street Bar and The Dead Rabbit. Growing up in New York, Pat was mentored by some of the most revered Irish-American fiddlers in the tradition, such as Brian Conway, Tony DeMarco, Andy McGann and Paddy Reynolds, amidst a vibrant musical community. But he was also tuned into other sounds such as jazz, hip hop, rock, and dance music. Today he taps into these influences on the electric violin - live at clubs, elite private events, and on recent projects with veteran DJ’s and producers such as Jovonn and Kerri Chandler. In addition to his passion for live performance, Pat is a teacher, recording artist, and composer. His most recent solo album “Departures” features his own globally-inspired, contemporary Irish tunes.
