L-Tip is a Grahamstown native, but now is currently based in Johannesburg. Tip is described by many as a hard-hitting emcee with mad flow and impressive imagery, witty, and said to be a dope storyteller. Tip is a great entertainer. His strength is in live performance and is well renowned for his freestyle and “improv” ability. In addition, Tip is a versatile producer with a range of different sounds. FACTS L-Tip has been seen on stages such as Slaghuis (Soweto), Koolin’ In The City (JHB), Expressions (SABC 1), The Massacre (JHB), Phat Thursdays (Cantare, Monte Casino), Hype Sessions (National Arts Festival), Jam That Sessions(CPT), Bassline (JHB), Times 4 (Sunnyside), Bring It To The Cypher @ DNE(PE), Monash Beer Fest, The Loop @ Melville, Live and Direkt Sessions(PTA), Strictly Hip Hop (PTA) and more… L-Tip released hit single Perfect Timing feat. Lex LaFoy, late 2019. The single topped local hip hop charts on 5FM and Ukhozi FM respectively. L-Tip has collaborated with producers MBzet and Brave on a single titled Man's World, which has had heavy rotation on Gagasi FM, YFM and Ukhozi FM. L-Tip is also featured on a DJ Lyquid's album, Your Music. L-Tip has done work on the soundtrack of award winning Quizzical movie, The Lucky Specials. In 2016, Tip dominated the South African Hip Hop Awards Cypher which was screened on MTV Base.
