The Opus Project is a new chamber music initiative formed in 2020 in Montréal by harpsichordist Christophe Gauthier and baroque flautist Joanna Marsden. Inspired by the beauty of early musical prints and manuscript sources, the Opus Project explores unsung treasures of the baroque chamber music repertoire by focusing deeply on one collection at a time. The Opus Project recorded Michel de la Barre’s Premier livre de pièces pour la flûte traversière, avec la basse continue (1702) from 18-21 July at Église St-Augustin in Mirabel, Québec. They recorded Michel Pignolet de Montéclair’s Concerts pour la flûte traversière avec la basse chiffré from 27-30 June, 2022 at Mirabel’s Église St-Augustin for an upcoming release on June 23, 2023.
