Thato Maduna (born 28 July 1996 in Katlehong, Johannesburg), professionally known as ThatoFeels is a South African singer-songwriter and artist at Kimosabe Productions. After moving to Tsakane, Johannesburg at the age of 6, Thato discovered his passion for music through his uncle who introduced him to the cultural arts. During a school talent showcase in the third grade, Thato chose to showoff his vocal ability. His singing prompted talent scouts to pick him up for the local mass choir. However, due to financial restraints Thato was forced to drop out of the choir and this made him grow despondent towards music. In 2016, he made his television debut on Idols where he auditioned, and would go on to the show’s Theatre Week, where he was eventually eliminated. Shortly after his appearance on Idols, Thato was sought out by award-winning producer; DJ Clock who signed him on to his AMPM Productions imprint, and subsequently produced his debut single titled ‘100 Meter Dash’, which would go on to peak at #3 on the YFM Urban Chart. In preparation for Thato’s debut body of work, DJ Clock recruited songwriter and producer extraordinaire; Kimosabe, to take helm of the project. Kimosabe and Thato would go on to develop a great working relationship, going on to record music together.
