The Phoenix artist known as Qiayz hails from Chicago, Illinois. In 2008, she quickly became best known for her remix of Lil Wayne's freestyle "D*ck Pleaser", which she renamed "P*ssy Eater" and received over 200 million streams on Myspace. Clearly, a talented wordsmith would come from her main influences like hip-hop, r&b, rap, neo-soul, jazz, and alternative/indie artists that she spent her youth listening to. She honed her skills as a rapper by competing in poetry contests, after joining a creative writing class in grammar school. She then won first place on her very first attempt at writing a narrative poem. She also found passion in challenges like spelling bees, writing books, and ghostwriting for r&b artists. This helped Qiayz open up and take control of her passion, which today she calls "lyrically organizing emotions." Qiayz will continue to grow as an artist and businesswoman as she has more than a handful of producers and artists requesting to feature her talents.
