“Fun fact: You can not mention my name without blowing a kiss. Muanda means bringer of happiness so it’s no surprise that I love to be on stage singing and dancing for, and with people. I think i’m on the right path and that it is meant for me to be an artist.” Muanda was born in Kibi (locally know as Kyebi) - a town on the eastern slopes of the Atewa Range - and raised in the barracks of Burma Camp/Accra, it was no wonder that her love for music and artistic expression quickly grew, despite the path her family had laid for her. And so she stepped out into the world to follow her own dreams. In a bid to make herself a better singer and performer, Muanda went on to play in various bars and shows in and around Accra, whilst also touring some universities in Ghana with the Moonlight Cafe Band. Her debut release “K3 Ke Mi”, a collaboration with Ghanaian producer Kuvie and rapper Ayat was released under the alias Moe. ”A lot of people could not mention my actual name properly,” Muanda explains, “ This led me to feel that I needed to have a nickname. I don’t feel that way anymore. I love how unique my name sounds and I’m comfortable releasing my music under my real name Muanda now.”
