Born and raised in the Bay Area of California, Lisa-Rae developed a passion for music at a very young age. At the age of 8 she began learning how to play the violin and took singing lessons, which she continued with throughout grade school. Growing up in the 90’s her interest focused primarily in Hip-Hop/R&B. She was influenced by artists such as Aaliyah, Destiny’s Child, Lauryn Hill, TLC, Tupac, Outkast, and more. 
 “I remember bugging my mom to take me to every concert that came to town. It was something about watching each artist live and being able to vibe out with a crowd that kept my aspiration to become an artist alive but I never made the move.” 
 Lisa-Rae attended college at San Francisco State University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and began a career in finance. “I always felt I’ve missed my chance at a career in music.” She would make the occasional joke about recording a song to friends and family but no one realized her seriousness. It wasn’t until November of 2018 that she decided to seriously compose and record her first song. 
 In only one year Lisa-Rae released her debut EP, Therapy, available now on all streaming platforms. Her dedication has led to over fifteen performances at local venues in Oakland, San Francisco and San Diego, and three music video releases with over 4,000 views on YouTube. Despite the delay in pursuing music, her work ethic and passion is shown through the milestones achieved in such a short amount of time.
