Mistah Mez had an unorthodox entry to the rap game, to say the least. After having his neck and skull sliced open during an altercation, the Sydney hip-hop artist took the near-death experience as a sign that he needed to seriously pursue his true passion: Music. Growing up in Western Sydney with a background in production and a diet of 2000s gangster rap, Mez picked up the microphone and gained heavy traction on singles like 'Put It On Me' featuring Rebecca Rosher, which has over 11 million streams on tastemaker YouTube channel RNBASS. Other singles like 'Questions' alongside Kennyon Brown have also garnered over a million YouTube views, showcasing his ability to traverse between Rap and R&B with slick confidence, resulting in anthemic tracks that live on the dancefloor in the early hours of the morning. Mez's preference for upbeat, jovial jams comes directly from his Chilean heritage; "I think having that Latino culture, I've naturally gravitated towards party music. Our culture loves a good dance and party." Also incorporating Latin guitars and 'Spanglish' vocabulary into his songs, Mez is a proud representative of Sydney's multicultural outer suburbs. Moving forward, Mez is keeping his circle tight. His next project will be produced by longtime collaborator DJ Sefru. Mez will also continue to work closely with Open Till L8 so we can expect more certified bangers to arrive soon.
