Thierry Maillard is a pianist and composer trained at the École Normale de Musique in Paris. After classical training, he discovered jazz, which inspired his unique fusion of musical genres. In 1998, he gained recognition with the album "Paris-New York," recorded in New York with Dennis Chambers and John Patitucci. He collaborates with major jazz figures such as Biréli Lagrène, Didier Lockwood, and Michel Portal, and also works with string quartets and the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2017, he paid tribute to Brassens, Brel, and Ferré with his solo album "Alone." He formed the Thierry Maillard Big Band in 2018 and produced two albums, including "Pursuit of Happiness" and "Zappa Forever." In 2022, he innovated with a predominantly female album, "Caméléon," and in 2023, he launched the Moog Project, paying tribute to the analog synthesizers of the 70s and 80s, influenced by bands like Supertramp. After 30 years of career as a pianist, composer, and orchestrator, and 22 albums as a leader in various formations, Thierry Maillard is now considered one of the most active and talented pianists on the French jazz scene.
