Biography

Austin Awake, is an American rapper, singer and songwriter. Known for utilizing various genres and musical styles, Austin accredits some of his biggest artistic influences to fellow musicians Kid Cudi and John Mayer. The youngest of three siblings, Austin was born and raised in Ballston Spa, New York. Growing up, music was vastly impactful, and after putting out his first release at age 13, Austin participated in a state wide competition in which he ended up winning. This allotted him opportunities to open alongside major acts such as Rick Ross, Machine Gun Kelly, Snoop Dogg, Big Sean and many more. In addition to an established local following, Austin rose to fame by creating a YouTube series dubbed Takeover Tuesdays— where he began recreating popular songs via his YouTube channel. In September 2015, Austin released a remix to OMI's “Cheerleader,” and in November of the same year, a remix to Adele's “Hello.” These viral videos made him an instant star on YouTube. In January 2017, Austin independently released his first project, Small Town Boy, debuting on the iTunes top 50. Subsequently Austin embarked on a ten-city tour throughout the Northeast and Midwest, appropriately titled— the Small Town Boy Tour. In 2018 Austin signed a deal with Empire records to distribute his second project, Along Away from Home. His lead single—About You, landed him back on the iTunes top 50 charts, also garnering him attention from Billboard Magazine.
