Independence is a rapper who prides himself in his unwavering authenticity and honesty that he displays through his writing. He was born and raised in Gretna, Louisiana, but currently resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He fell in love with music at the age of nine after suffering a heart wrenching tragedy within his family, he would religiously listen to rappers like Tupac, Mos Def, Logic, Mac Miller, J Cole and Kendrick Lamar throughout his youth, and still enjoys and studies their art, as well as his extensive and ever expanding list of inspirations. He is also a avid lover of soul and jazz, genres he loves to implement into music of his own, often times using the sound scapes found within those very genres to help develop a foundation for whatever he is working on.
