The story is an inspirational one, detailing his struggle from his hard knock life beginnings. WINK grew up in Brooklyn’s notorious Flatbush section. He was arguably one the most instrumental members of the NYCs Crip stronghold in Flatbush Brooklyn. As a young teenage kid held by the grips of his evolving environment, he was caught up in a life of bangin’, slangin’, robbery, violence and mayhem. Karma eventually returned violently, he was shot point blank in the back of the head by a rival gang member. Wink survived the surreal ordeal. By the end of the year Wink began serving an eight (8) year sentence for an armed robbery conviction. But where there is darkness you will always find light. Instead of continuing his violent beginning he began rapping while incarcerated and there it was born his passion for rap. With his newest release Locomotive 4, Wink has proven time and time again that he is here to stay.
