OctavePussY is a Dutch funk band named after a cartoon figure that was featured on George Clinton’s 1978 Parliament album “Motor Booty Affair”. It was founded in 1999 by brothers Joris & Steve van Rijn and Edwin Konings. In 2001 they released their debut album "Propagations Of The Classical Groove" and a live band was formed. In the following years they released two more albums, “The Life Of The Funkshipz Captain" (2004) & “Here Are The Results Of A Universal Jury” (2005). They toured around Europe for a couple of years and had a big following among the European funk scene. After a break the band got back together and released their 4th studio album "AssFunk" in 2015, followed by "If The Funk Don't Fit Force It” in 2017. In 2018 oldschool members Edwin & Arno Konings reunited with the band to work on the new album, "Straight From #1 Bimini Road" (2019-2020) OctavePussY has had several line-ups, but over the years the core of the band exists of Joris & Steven van Rijn, Erwin Latuheru and Patrick Jordens.
