TTechmak is the alias of Australian/Chinese Jazz Trumpeter/Composer/Producer Toby Mak. Known mostly as a jazz soloist Mak created the TTechmak persona in 2007 to produce his first electronic/jazz album, TTechmak Vol.1 "Unnecessary Update”. The album was well received and helped expose Mak to a whole new audience. The TTechmak Live band was formed the same year, blending jazz and modern EDM sounds together in live performance. In 2016 Mak collaborated with prolific Beijing producer Soulspeak on their album "Love in the Land of Robots". The album reached the no.2 spot on Taiwan's alternate iTunes Charts as well as claiming the no.8 spot on That's Shanghai’s top 50 Chinese albums of 2016. TTechmak Vol.2 "Uncertain Worlds” was released at the end of 2017 through JZ and Sony Music. The album was nominated in the “Best Jazz Instrumental Album” category at the 2018 CMA Music awards. This album featured many of China’s top jazz musicians and continues the exploration into mixing jazz improvisation with modern electronic music styles. TTechmak Vol.3 “Synthetic Steps” was released at the end of 2020 in collaboration with Elvenz and Universal Music. In this latest edition Mak continues to explore electronic elements in an instrumental modern jazz setting, while also questioning.........where will all this technology lead us...............
