Biography

Ebon formed in August of 2002 when Justin and Melinda Whedon (RIP) shifted their focus from the promotion of club and rave events, to the production of dark tribal house and industrial electro breaks. Producing together under the alias Ebon, the duo swiftly caught the ear of the EDM community. Their first promo single 'Sleepless2' was well received by DJ's everywhere, and was soon charted in the March 2003 issue of MUZIK magazine by James Zabiela. Shortly thereafter, legendary house label Hooj Choons licensed 'Sleepless2' for Zabiela's mix CD 'Sound in Motion' as well as including it on the triple unmixed vinyl pack. In 2004 CP Recordings re-released 'Sleepless2' on the E² EP backed with 'Fallen' by Evan Marcus. Next, Ebon's Thermal Imaging Mix of Paul Lancaster's 'Night Vision' was put out on the limited edition label CPR White. Those two releases were just the beginning as Ebon has since released a multitude of tracks, remixes and recently conceived and compiled the 'My Life Remixed' CD, a Remix tribute to My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult released on Red Ant Recordings in February of 2005. Ebon played many flawless LIVE sets around the Mid-West and as far away as Juarez, Mexico and Winter Music Conference. Ebon ended in March of 2009 when Melinda passed away due to complications from ALS.
