Biography

Deobrat Mishra, an Indian sitar, surbahar, and music composer, expertly blends the Benares Gharana tradition of Hindustani classical music with his innovative playing style. As the 11th generation of the Benares Gharana, Deobrat infuses his sitar performances with a rare combination of Dhrupad, Khayal, and Benarasi Thumri styles. Initially trained by his tabla-playing mother, Pramila Mishra, and his legendary sitarist father, Pandit Shivnath Mishra, Deobrat's talent shone from an early age. He first graced the stage after only six months of sitar lessons and has since received numerous accolades, including the Young Sitar Player of India award and the Sur Mani award. A true global artist, Deobrat performs with renowned musicians worldwide and is a proud member of ensembles such as India Meets Europe, Indo-European Music Ensemble, Trio Benares, and Embryo. His collaborative projects include orchestral performances, music workshops, and founding the Academy of Indian Classical Music with his father in 2006. Experience the soulful and captivating fusion of Deobrat Mishra's sitar mastery, where tradition and innovation intertwine, creating a mesmerizing musical journey.
