Biography

Formed in 2005, Twintera graduated from the rank of garage band with the 2009 release of its 5-tracks EP, "Demotion", which saw the sextet bringing to light its original work in its first satisfactory attempt to create a truly personal heavy metal sound. In 2011 the departure of keyboardist Matteo "Teddy" Bigon reduced the band to a quintet and deprived it of the versatile sound and support of the keys. “Lines” (2012) is the first full-length, inspired from different musical influences and also featuring Tom Englund from Evergrey on the track “Oversight”. During the two years later the promotion of the album brought Twintera for the first time in Austria, Switzerland, Germany and Czech Republic, including a show at the Masters of Rock festival, in 2013. From 2014 a long period of changes started, as the singer Fabio Merzi and the bass player Stefano Fava left the band, after many unforgettable years of great playing together, which have represented fundamental moments of growth for all the band. A following long composing process ended in 2018, with the publication of the second full-length “Propaganda”. Massimo Brunelli on vocals and Matteo Veneri on the bass completed the new line up, which returned to be solid thanks to friendship, harmony and similar way of thinking and approaching music. “Propaganda” has the most innovated and representative sound of Twintera, due to a free composition through different styles and a new cohesiveness.
