South Dallas native Javonte “2 Official” Clarkson began his musical journey at the age of 15. Growing up in Turner Courts and Good Haven, the rapper faced many trials and tribulations that caused him to be the primary breadwinner of his household. While working full time to provide for his family, he still made time to do what he loved. He discovered his musical abilities freestyling in battles against friends and other local rappers. After receiving love and support from his peers, rapping became a major part of his life. From that moment it became official, 2 Official. The rapper began spending his free time making connections with local artists on the Dallas music scene and perfecting his craft. His figurative language, metaphors, similes and punchlines are influenced by million-selling rapper Lil Wayne. Being compared to rappers like Lil Boosie and the late Snupe has helped 2 Official create his own musical identity. Striving to be more than a rapper, 2 Official makes music to be a source of motivation to the hood by being relatable and encouraging them to overcome any obstacle.
