Being born in Scotland and emigrating to Windsor, Canada has certain advantages if you are a musician. First, Windsor has the unique feature of being situated just two minutes by car from Detroit, Michigan, the city where one of electronic music's most important movements began and The sounds of seminal techno music broadcast from Detroit radio stations were easily received by those who lived in Windsor. Meanwhile, Paul’s cousin back in Scotland was sending him a steady stream of mixtapes via airmail of the UK underground music scene. Moving to Toronto after university, Paul began to release electronic music under the name Sudden which led to him opening for techno legends Orbital and invitations to festivals like Detroit's Movement from Carl Craig and Toronto's Edgefest, where he mixed beats to a huge crowd of astonished Nickleback fans. Later, Paul released two albums of 8-bit electronic music under the name "Le Bus"; stripped down songs with abstract yet catchy vocals . One of the albums CBC Radio3 declared "..could easily be one of the best electronic albums of the year!". This project made massive impact on the Canadian college radio scene, scoring top tens in most Canadian cities.
