Jade de Lafleur is a Louisiana-native whose passion for music and entertainment started at 5 years old. It was then that her mother, a soloist with the local church choir, introduced Jade to the music of Whitney Houston. Eventually Jade would join the youth choir herself, where she also became a soloist. Her first release was a critically acclaimed 9 song EP entitled Jaded. It featured “Smoking In My Car,” a song co-written with master songwriter James Fauntleroy. "Jaded" the title track from the EP, was featured on Solange’s Saint Heron compilation album. The LP featured a host of then burgeoning talent including Jhene Aiko, Sampha, and Kelela. A dynamic performer, Jade is known for her dance party vibe live shows. The original "Miss Mississippi" in the play P Valley, & most recently appearing in Marvel’s Luke Cage, she has a flair for the theatrical. Her personal growth is reflected throughout her latest album,THE GREEN HORSE, executive produced by Patrick Wimberly + Davix; best described as powerful, provocative and unfiltered.
