After years of co-writing jams for other household names, in Jan 2019, Newcastle raised, Melbourne based producer turn artist James Crooks released his debut EP titled 'Blame My Soul', featuring vocals of friends Tyne-James Organ, Paige IV, BOI and more. October 18th 2019 re-marks the day of Crooks artistic independence with the release of new single ‘Let Me Be’. The single speaks honestly to how he felt whilst under contract with his previous label and the songs signature sound highlights the disparity between his ‘then’ sound and where he wanted to be.
