Biography

Cat Ellington is an American songwriter/composer, casting director, poet, author, voice-over actress, and entrepreneur from Chicago, IL. Widely known for her contributions in music, movies, and literature, Ellington, a creative writer since childhood, wrote her first song, titled "The Baby's Song," in 1981 when she was 10-years-old. And since then, she has composed hundreds of song works that span 24 musical genres. Vital Vision Productions, a film production company based in Chicago, hired Cat to cast Dual Mania in 1993. The thriller was written and produced by her husband, Joseph Strickland. Ellington was responsible for placing not only the principal players in the film but also the supporting players. She completed the task in 1996, marking her debut in the film industry. In literature, her prolific bibliography lists over two dozen titles, including the Reviews by Cat Ellington series. In the music industry, the works of Cat Ellington include the debut releases of Dual Mania (The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) and Instrumentals: Music from the Motion Picture Dual Mania. She supplies original music to both, including The Book of Us, I'm Still in Love, Something in Your Eyes, Gett Out, and I Do, the winner of the 2019 Vegas Movie Award for Best Song.
