Fusion of Jamaican music and jazz. Drop Collective is a ten-piece band created at the end of 2016 in Barcelona. The great jazz scene of the city brought together musicians that found a common sound between the jazz tradition and Jamaican rhythms. Since then, they continue to explore new sounds, incorporating stylistic resources and effects from Reggae and Dub music. Everything comes together through the voice and lyrics that share messages of love, freedom, and respect. The versatility of jazz music and the groove of Jamaican rhythms are the combination that defines the music, complemented with a powerful live show, characterized by its ability to make you dance. This 2024, they released their 3rd LP "Inside" (Brixton Records), where they reaffirm their ska-reggae-jazz musical identity without ceasing to move towards new colors and styles. The two sides of the album are clearly differentiated: Side A, Inside-Out, consists of 5 original tracks, 3 in Catalan and 2 in English. Reggae is the main style of this side, and the lyrics connect with the maturity that the collective is acquiring. Side B, Outside-In, consists of 4 powerful and festive standards performed in a Ska-Jazz style.
