Biography

When Blanco de Laurent (Wilfredo Sandoval-Molina, born May 29th, 2003) first took consideration into making music his life in 2018, his big striving goal is to surprise the world with his sounds and productions. The name “Blanco de Laurent” was an idea or inspiration that came from an Instagram post by Travis Scott on June 7, 2018 captioned, “Blanco de Laurent.” Blanco decided to take the liberty and make it as his stage name since he likes how it sounds and how it means towards him. The word “Blanco” is a Spanish term color which translates to “White,” and “Laurent,” a French Origin, meaning “From Laurentum,” “Laurelled,” or bright shining one.” When “Blanco de Laurent” can be all translated, it would mean “White of Laurent” or just “White Laurent.” Blanco de Laurent used to be referred to as “SmokeWiLL” when he was just a beatmaker instead of a producer and putting out beat tapes rather than producer albums (despite SmokeWiLL’s ‘Love in Caution’ release back in 2020). His inspiration to release real albums rather than beat tapes was because he always dreams of putting albums/mixtapes out for the world to see and having to be hyped/excited when having a good voice on his beats. DJ ESCO, Metro Boomin & Gesaffelstein were also the reason why Blanco de Laurent decides to hop on the producer album train. Not only will Blanco de Laurent produce beats for other artists and drop producer albums, he’ll also focus on collaborations with other artists/producers in the meantime.
