Mate (Matthias Benedikt, based in Cologne/Germany) is deeply rooted in mellow pop-melodies and emotional wanderlust, although he sometimes likes to hit harsher notes which might, above all, be a result of his band projects "Civilianz" (-2013) and "Fyr". Benedikt started working on original songs in 2006. In early 2009 he teamed up with songwriter & producer Johannes Bühler. With the support of his new writing partner, the songs for “Every Now and Again” were crafted which first released in early 2012-2013. "Morning Light" and "Aimless Journeys” were both featured on two German radio – stations (SWR DASDING/bigFM). Furthermore "Morning Light" won the Streetlight - Media/Berlin competition. "Ellen" was remixed worldwide, among the re-creators, acclaimed glowtronic masters "Leitbur"' from Los Angeles, California contributed their beautiful vision of the song. In 2013, Benedikt decided to work on new material with producer and songwriter Martin Ferring. Two of the early demos are now included in Every Now and Again's digital release ("Mrs Livingston - Demo, "Love Is Queen - Demo) . Besides working on new songs for "Fyr", he is currently reworking some of the Civilianz material in rather acoustic and laid-back arrangements.
