In 1992, Bao began to write music columns and reviews for various Vietnamese newspapers, and within three years, he became famous in journalism. Throughout the early ’90s he built a solid reputation as one of the best music reviewers in the business, portraiting such superstars as Tran Tien, Anh Tuyet, Ngoc Yen, Cam Van, Hong Nhung, Thanh Lam and My Linh. He also published three books which reflect Vietnamese contemporary music history. From there, Bao added songwriting and producing to his musical accomplishments. His early production and writing client list included Tran Thu Ha, Thu Phuong, Huy MC, 3A Trio. In 1997, he received honor for producing Tran Thu Ha’s “Em Ve Tinh Khoi”. With over 20 years of music experience and more than ten songwriter’s albums behind him, Quoc-Bao is an artist who has been uncompromisingly pursuing his own artistic direction and resolutely building up a body of work in various artistic fields. Bao is the creative management force behind the success of significant and highly acclaimed Vietnamese vocalists such as Tran Thu Ha, My Tam, Ngo Thanh Van, Le Hieu, Mai Khoi, Nguyen Ha… A visionary producer, gifted arranger and prolific composer, he brings a rare combination of talent and taste to his work. Bao became one of the most prominent songwriters in Vietnam who has nearly 1,000 lyrically poetical and melodically beautiful songs.
