Ollie Bomaye is a hip-hop and funk artist hailing from Kalamazoo, MI then later relocating to Atlanta, GA to pursue a career in recorded music. Ollie started playing the piano when he was 7 years old, first being classically trained and then studying jazz theory upon graduating from high school. By the age of 14 he had began crafting original records reminiscent of his influences, Kendrick Lamar, Wale, J. Cole, Gil-Scott Heron and many more. After creating a name for himself in his hometown he’d continue on branding himself as a respected live performer by combining his hip hop lyrics with his live instrument background by rapping and playing the piano simultaneously. He’s performed in front crowds of 500+ people, performing at venues and events such as Delightful Eatz on Edgewood, Apache Café’s fall Potluck, and many more. Ollie’s first collaborative project New Horizons had been covered by blogs and media outlets including livemixtapes and Gowherehiphop. As Ollie transitioned from Michigan to Atlanta, his music making process became more fulfilling when he taught himself how to produce, earning production credits on several artist projects from Michigan to New York. He’s influenced by early 70’s music and contemporary soul, hip hop, R&B and jazz. Through his platform and voice he plans to create change in his city and throughout the world.
