Maleen is a Danish singer and composer producing beautiful folk tunes full of pagan imagery and atmospheric layers of sound” -YORK CALLING Maleen's latest release with the guitarist Allan Sjølin has elements of contemporary folk and country into it. Symphonic Metal and classical are also among the genres that Maleen plays with. Her first single Sad Ironic (2018) was released with a magnificent art music video. Since then she has had several releases, mostly with George Keller as producer. Maleen has received great reviews Worldwide and is frequently played in the Danish National radio. Maleen's voice takes a center stage in the beautiful Lux Aeterna from the Anastasis-Messe by the great Danish composer Frederik Magle. Maleen conducts the choir in the mass and she has been the choreographer on all concert performances. Maleen's urge to create new music has over the years led to experimental concerts such as "Wolf howl in Ulvedalene (Wolf Valleys) and "Twilight concerts" in sacred rooms. In the creation process, Maleen let herself inspire by nature, the epic and contrasts. Maleen has been trained as a classical singer (lyric soprano) but started her musical career singing in her own rock band and winning several Danish song contests “It's interesting to mix the different genres. I love to play with the contrasts between light soprano voice and dark chest register sound and expose my self into everything from traditional classical use to Nordic Jojk and raw rock voice”
