ZAKKUM is one of the most outstanding bands in Turkish music scene, formed in Ankara in 1999 under the name RAINDOG by Yusuf Demirkol, Cem Senyücel and Eren Parlakgümüş. In 2003, Emre Yılmaztürk joined them. Making its name with a Brit Rock repertoire and colourful stage visuals, after more than 1000-night stage performances, Raindog accelerated its effort to make their own album and switched to a Turkish name ZAKKUM in 2006. They released the 1st album Zehr-i Zakkum (2007) with the videos Ah Çikolata, Ahtapotlar, Zehr-i Zakkum , Hipokondriyak and Anlıyorsun. The album included duets with Teoman and Seyyal Taner. They released the 2nd album 13 in 2011 and made a duet with Hayko Cepkin for the song Koma. The 1st music video was for Yüzük. In 2011, Anason became one of the 3 most successful songs of the decade. Ahtapotlar achieved also a great success in 2012. After the Ben Böyle Değildim EP, the band completed its 4th album Her Gün Sonbahar in 2013. Videos were made for Ben Ne Yangınlar Gordüm, Gidiyorum Yolcu Et, Gökyüzünde, Her Gün Sonbahar, Acita Acita . The 5th album was Bir Gece Yarası (2016). In 2017, they released a cover version of Hatıran Yeter with a great success. Duble consisting of two parts and 30 new songs under the new ZAKKUM MÜZİK label, is released in 2020. As with all ZAKKUM albums to date, all lyrics belong to Cem Senyücel and all compositions to Yusuf Demirkol. In 2022, Zakkum released their brand new single Seni Rastgele Sevmedim with a great success.
