Biography

Los Creadorez is the shortened version of the name of Chicago's Los Creadorez del Pasito Duranguense, led by the internationally renowned Alfredo Ramírez Corral. The band was formed as Grupo Montéz de Durango in the middle of the 1990s by Corral and Ismael Mijarez. They played weddings and neighborhood festivals throughout the Windy City's many Latin neighborhoods and began recording, eventually becoming the top-selling Duranguense band in the United States on numerous albums for RCA, Sony, and Disa Records. Corral and Mijarez split off to become Los Creadorez del Pasito Duranguense in 2006. Their first two singles, "Que Lastima" and "Quisiera Ser una Lagrima," both on Disa, charted on Billboard's Regional Mexican music chart. When they issued their debut album, Recio, Recio Mis Creadorez, in 2007, the album hit the top spot on the chart. Listos, Montados y Armados followed quickly in 2008, and also entered the Top Ten. By this time, the group's reputation had begun to spread far outside the United States through Mexico and the Americas. Los Creadorez became an enormously successful touring unit, making many appearances on television as well. Their videos garnered hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube and were successful on Latin music television. By the time 2009's Avanzando en la Vida and the live offering En Vivo Desde Durango were released, Los Creadorez were bona fide superstars. In 2010, the band issued Puras de Jose Alfredo, another chart-topping album, followed by two hits collections and a second live offering. After an extensive regional tour, and a well-deserved break, Los Creadorez issued Tercia de Ases and A Todísima Banda -- both full-length albums -- on August 29, 2013. ~ Thom Jurek, Rovi
