Biography

Matt Oestreicher is a producer, arranger, performer, writer, bandleader, Podcaster, educator, and virtuoso on keyboards and guitars. In his career, he has traversed a wild array of genres, including funk, soul, jazz, R&B, rock, third stream, kirtan, and avant-garde. After many years of working behind the scenes, Matt is beginning to share his own music with the world. A select cross section of the artists he’s performed and worked with include Stevie Wonder, Dionne Warwick, Cee-Lo Green, Snoop Dogg, Will i Am, Jon Bon Jovi, Paul Shaffer, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Talib Kweli, Esperanza Spalding, Krishna Das, and Mike Gordon (Phish), among many others. Currently, he is the arranger/keyboardist/guitarist for the world famous Apollo Amateur Night Band, he has played lead guitar for Beautiful the Musical: The Carole King Broadway Show. He is the Music Director for the New York Revival of Smokey Joe's Cafe on 42nd street. Matt has also composed music for film and TV, and appeared on Showtime At The Apollo, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The ESPY Awards, and Comedy Central’s Night of Too Many Stars. Parallel to his success as a career musician, Matt has been on an odyssey for truth and enlightenment into Eastern philosophy and practices. He dedicated the greater part of 4 years living at yoga centers and meditation centers where he worked in exchange for instruction in Eastern spiritual and body practices. Also, he worked for Ram Dass in Maui.
