Biography

King Richard has been the quintessential Retro Rock and Roll Revivalist. Richard , along with his band members, have established a reputation as crowd-pleasing live performers. Playing clubs from Shreveport, LA to Austin, TX and everywhere in between since 2010.While playing gigs all over East Texas and Louisiana with King Richard & The Bayou Boys, Richard and local musician Stuart Gregory conceived of the album "Soul Stealer" some songs like "Don't You Worry About Me" were recorded in New Orleans legendary Piety Street Studio with New Orleans Producer Mark Bingham ( R.E.M., Roy Orbison) on bass guitar. Others like "Tomorrow You Could Be Gone" were produced in East Texas with artist/producer Levi Kitchen. Fans of Rock & Roll and Blues music have long associated its’ origins with the fertile breeding grounds of Memphis, and Louisiana, but There is one piece missing in this puzzle . TEXAS ! This was noticed by New Orleans native and Texas recording artist King Richard. Texas brought us Freddie King, Z.Z. Hill, Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly, T-Bone Walker, Janis Joplin, Sly Stone, Delbert McClinton, Billy Gibbons, Jimmie and Stevie Vaughan, just to name a few,. To complete your take on the origins of the sacred sound, - Ya gotta have this one!!
