Martijn Buijnsters unleashes his own original sound on the classical guitar world, influenced as he is by his travels, molecular sciences, Julian Bream, elementary particles, Hollywood Fats, prime numbers, Yves Klein and Hagakure. This guitarist, whose qualities are anything but average, can be heard as a soloist, in chamber music duos, in theatre shows and accompanying vocalists. Martijn has an inquiring mind and in addition to his music, he is also passionate about pure science, history and unspoilt nature. He sees himself preferably as a homo universalis in the 21st century, learning each day, but at the same time realising that he knows so very little. At age 22, he gained a master's degree in Molecular Sciences at Wageningen University, after which he completed his classical guitar studies with Enno Voorhorst, at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, in 2006. Martijn owns, and teaches at, the Gitaarcentrum Amsterdam. I: martijnbuijnsters.com E: martijnbuijnsters@gmail.com
