Ineke Vandoorn has been praised for her personal style and her seemingly unlimited vocal capacities. The Dutch Volkskrant called her ‘the adventurer among the Dutch jazz vocalists’. Together with her duo partner guitarist/composer Marc van Vugt she performs internationally, their thoughtful and multi-layered original music that combines lyrical songs with expressive improvisations. She released 13 CD’s with line-ups ranging from a trio to the Metropole Orchestra, the Dutch Chamber Choir and the Leipzig (G) male classical vocal ensemble amarcord and played in clubs and festivals in among others Canada, New York, Japan, France, Germany and Indonesia. Both in 2016 and 2018 she toured for 5 weeks in Canada, playing in the Canadian Opera Company, in clubs and teaching and performing as artist-in-residence at Universities in Toronto and Vancouver. A CD with live recordings of these tours was released in 2019. Also in 2018 Ineke toured with dancer/choreographer Cecilia Moiso (FI) with an original duet on criticism. 2023-2024 promises to be a fruitful period with another 5-week Canadian tour, a vocal improvisation project with Marc van Vugt and Canadian Christine Duncan and a new release with renowned pianist Jasper van t Hof.
