Biography

Gabriele Hasler voice, words, composition, improvisation, electronics Gabriele Hasler studied at the Berklee College of Music, Boston, USA, and others. Since the early eighties she has performed with several ensembles and band projects in Europe, South Asia and North Africa. She combines elements of free improvisation, jazz, avant-garde and world music creating a truly original, individual as well as contemporary style. She writes poetry of her own but also often draws on modern poets such as Gertrude Stein. Her vocal performance can be regarded as a process of exploring the limits of the human voice.
