Emmy and RTS award winning composer, Nainita Desai, was World Soundtrack Awards 2021 winner for Discovery of the Year. A double BIFA and Cinema Eye Honors nominee; BAFTA Breakthrough Brit, and IFMCA Breakthrough Composer of the year 2019, Nainita was described by Empire magazine as one of the top 5 composers to watch for 2022. She has scored feature documentary The Deepest Breath (A24, Netflix) that World Premiered at Sundance 2023. Amongst various BAFTA, Oscar and Emmy acclaimed productions, Nainita’s recent projects include the acclaimed interactive film-video game Immortality.and the Netflix hit documentary 14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible, produced by Oscar winner Jimmy Chinn, for which her score earned an Emmy nomination. Desai’s other credits include Oscar 2020 nominated and BAFTA & Cannes winning feature doc For Sama Sundance winning The Reason I Jump, BBC1 action thriller series Crossfire, Netflix hit American Murder, ITV drama series The Tower (Gemma Whelan), land mark wildlife series Predators for Sky/Netflix and video game Telling Lies. Upcoming projects include SKY comedy drama series Funny Woman (Gemma Arterton), a major drama series for Disney+, and other landmark series for Apple TV+, James Cameron and Nat Geo and video games for EA Originals and Activision. Nainita began her career as a sound designer on feature films for directors including Werner Herzog and Bertolucci, as well as assistant music engineering for Peter Gabriel.
