Hailing from Northside Pontiac, Michigan, rapper Mari Red has been crafting his path through the rap scene since a young age. His journey into the world of rap began early on, penning his first rhyme in 5th grade, laying the foundation for his musical journey. Growing up in a musically charged environment, Mari Red's father, a skilled singer and rapper, planted the seeds that would sprout into his own dedication to music. Back in 2022, Mari Red was signed to Tee Grizzley’s independent label Grizzley Gang Music. Tee Grizzley initially discovered Mari Red through mutual connections. Shortly after discovering Mari's music, a FaceTime call with Tee paved the way for Mari Red's official entry into the rap game. Shortly after, Mari was flown out to LA, and officially signed to Grizzley Gang Music. Collaborations with RMC Mike, Skilla Baby as well as unreleased tracks with Tee Grizzley and Big Key stashed in the vault underscore his growing influence. Mari Red's music echoes the sonics of Detroit Rap, blending a familiar street-rap sound with his own versatile style and flows. In his own words, Mari describes the way he approaches his music in simple terms, “anything that pulls inspiration, I can slide on”. In the ongoing evolution of his style, Mari Red is experimenting with new flows and pushing boundaries with his sound.
