Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, artist/songwriter Playboy Payso has been on a steady grind since the 2020 release of his breakout mixtape The Game Be Deep, which was inspired by everyday life and examination of the outcomes of his daily decisions. Having welcomed his first child in 2018, stepping into his role as a father along with the memories of witnessing his mother struggle to provide for him and his siblings ignited the spark to live in his purpose. Upon the untimely death of dearly departed friends Gram Kash and Blizz, Payso revamped the hustling crew name Get Money to OGM (Operation Get Money). Gram Kash and Payso not only hustled together, they dreamed of putting New York back on the Hip Hop map. Growing up in Brooklyn during the Golden Era of Hip Hop, Payso was influenced by the sounds of Biggie Smalls, Jay-Z, Fabolous, DMX, Lloyd Banks, & Young Jeezy and found a strong connection to the early beats and lyrics of a young Mobb Deep. When asked what about their music inspired him, he simply responds by saying “It was the desperation, the loneliness, the hunger, that underdog factor” that spoke to him musically. An ode to the Hip Hop/R&B of the 90’s features melodic production by eemtriplin, Dom2xl and Nicholas Craven. Playboy P strives to bring musicianship back to the NY hip hop music scene.
