Biography

Known as founder and longtime member of collective Ubiquitous Love Tribe, nahhphet is a self-described “puppeteer of nonsense phrases,” journeyman wind magician, and multidisciplinary artist-teacher. Based in Los Angeles, he primarily expresses through the disciplines of rap and beatmaking, offering a unique brand of tangential, melancholic, abstract hip-hop, reminiscent of artists like Earl Sweatshirt and Theravada. Since 2013, nahhphet has released 20 solo albums/EPs alongside assorted singles and collaborative projects, published an illustrated book of poetry, performed at over 200 events in Los Angeles and nationally, and curated residencies at The Virgil, Delicious Pizza, and Townhouse Venice. His most recent notable performances include opening for Oddisee at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre and performing at Coachella’s Turndown Stage. Fresh off of the releases of album-book The Dreamer in Their Tower and liminal EP Solar Return Suite 3, nahhphet is preparing the release of rap album Decadent Apocalypse, set for August 2023.
