Adding to the Twin Cities music scene since the age of 12, Ameen Taahir has developed quite a unique sound that has established him as a creative force to look out for. Ameen is a Rapper, Singer, Producer, Song-Writer, and Engineer from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. He turned to rap as an outlet and knew early on that music was an area in which he was able to express himself fully. In 2009, Ameen started releasing remixes and freestyles to his favorite records at the time. By 2011, he was figuring out his sound and started recording his original music. This is also where his beat-making journey began. From 2012 to 2018 he would go on to release 1 mixtape, 1 album, 3 EPs, and various singles. On March 19th, 2021 he released an album titled "Emerald Child" which is his first project to be released worldwide on all platforms. Ameen produces and engineers for other artists as well. One of the most popular records is Purple Queen’s “Worth it” reaching past 70k streams on Spotify alone. Being a fan of many different sounds has allowed him to weave through and mix different genres resulting in him delivering unique sonics. Choosing to create music that touches on his everyday life and experiences has resulted in authentic introspective bodies of work. Being fully self-taught has forced him to gain control of every part of how his audience experiences the music. This would ultimately generate his fearless creative approach.
