One of Britain’s most respected pianists, Danny Driver is recognised internationally for his sophistication, insight and musical depth. His studies at Cambridge University and the Royal College of Music inspired his holistic approach to performance and enabled him to cultivate a broad repertoire from J S Bach to the present day. Driver’s performance schedule takes him across the UK, Europe, North America and the Far East. He has appeared as soloist with the Hallé, Bournemouth Symphony, BBC Scottish Symphony, Royal Philharmonic (including the BBC Proms), American Symphony, Hong Kong Pro Arte, and Minnesota Orchestras. In recital he performs regularly at Wigmore Hall, Music Toronto, New York’s Bard Music Festival, and made his debut on the Southbank International Piano Series in 2016. His solo recordings on the Hyperion Records label have received widespread acclaim including two Gramophone Award nominations and Limelight Magazine’s Instrumental Disc of the Year (2014). Danny Driver values ensemble collaboration as highly as his solo work. Recent projects have included a complete Beethoven Piano & Violin Sonatas with Chloë Hanslip recorded live at Turner Sims Concert Hall, and songs by Samuel Barber and Leonard Bernstein with Anna Stéphany & Christian Immler.
