Starting at the age of 9, Miquel Tanda took guitar lessons for a decade to play classical music – e.g. from Johann Sebastian Bach – on acoustic guitar. As a teenager, after having received his first electric guitar (a copy of Gibson's Les Paul) from his favourite cousin, he started playing punk rock music with school friends. Miquel composed most of the music and wrote the lyrics of many of the tracks. For a few songs of that band (called: Elefantenzertrampelnde Mäuse) he banged the drums. Later, when another band lacked a bass guitar player, Miquel started playing bass guitar, happy to combine both rhythm and melody, drums and guitar. Some years ago, he started his solo project, Globally Local Music, for which he is composing and producing electronic music, adding vocals of different singers. Besides that «ego project» Miquel is playing music with his school friends again, playing the bass again, but now on analogue synthesizers, not on a bass guitar. His friends got used to that and meanwhile accept it, even though they wished he would again play the bass guitar instead of the synths – like in the good old times.
