King Remo Music is one of the leading indie reggae labels in the U.S. Based out of San Antonio, TX, the label was founded by Sergio Ortiz, better known as reggae artist Sgt. Remo. When asked how the label formed, Remo stated "I started the label out of frustration and necessity. When I first started recording, I couldn’t get any producers or labels to work with me. One day I decided to start my own label." A journey began, with the compelling first release being Reggae SoulJahs Worldwide Vol. 1. The label has steadily grown since the release of Reggae SoulJahs Worldwide Vol. 1, collaborating with a multitude of new and established reggae artists. Notable collaborations include General Smiley, Nico D, Gappy Ranks, Dre Z Melodi, McPullish, Chezidek, and Ranking Joe. True to its humble beginnings, the label continues to provide the infrastructure and expertise of a label to those who do not have access to one. Remo expresses the label's overall goal is to set a positive impact in the global reggae scene, "We want to be part of reggae music history, which is being written as we speak." Reggae SoulJahs Worldwide Vol. 5 is scheduled to be released in late 2024. The album was produced, mixed, and mastered by Chilean dub master Kutral Dub. Volume 5 includes music by Ranking Joe, Sgt. Remo, Tikaf, Nego Hights, Soulfiya and Gucci Boss, Gappy Ranks, Shak Manaly, and Javier Alerta.
