Metic fuses soulful guitar grooves with laid-back hip-hop beats. While his playing is rooted in blues and fingerstyle guitar, his productions are informed by 90s boombap, G-funk and trip-hop. A frequent collaborator, the Brooklyn-based Hong Kong native continues to draw inspiration from both cities. This is showcased in his album releases: Thoughts on Home and Symmetry and Soul Feather both document his life and travels across his home and hometown, whereas A Fleeting Dream in Waking Life is a collaborative album with Hong Kong ambient producer Norvik that explores the borders of ambient and beatmaking. Together with longtime friend Lamchop, he also formed Horizon Terminal in 2018. After their self-titled debut EP Horizon Terminal and sophomore EP Saturn Return, they returned with their first full-length LP Pastel Lovers centered around the theme of young love and the aesthetic of British Columbia's pastel skies.
