equators was created out of a desire to break away from a (sometimes) forced or narrow structure within pop/rock music to conjure sounds/textures/melodies based on off-the-cuff exercises creating something charged with immediacy (chance operations, if you will). little by little the project has invited the tighter-structured song model back a few paces, informing their sonic possibilities with lessons learned, and a willingness to merge the two. letting something go if it doesn’t feel right very quickly.
